How to Blend Hippotherapy into your Therapy Business (Beginner/Intermediate) 

Dr. Sanders-Holly will discuss practice structure from the ground then share how she utilized sound business management to grow her thriving practice. This session will include marketing/branding your specialty practice, consumer education, development of a comprehensive plan of care, budget considerations, liability, billing strategies, quality control and best practices within the scope of running a successful Therapy Business.

1. Attendees will be able to describe practice structure from the ground up.
2. Attendees will be able to share how to branding your specialty practice, while striking a balance between highlighting hippotherapy as an intervention without limiting your scope.
3. Attendees will be able to define for the consumer the difference between a skilled therapeutic interventions vs. recreation.
4. Attendees will be able to share at least two considerations tied to budget and liability.
5. Attendees will be able to describe how quality control and best practice can impact your
therapy business.

PRESENTER: Dr. Cassandra Sanders-Holly is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a Board Certified Specialty in Pediatric Physical Therapy. She is the Founder and Director of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy Inc., located in Norco, CA, and an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Southern California, Department of Biokinesiology & Physical Therapy.

Dr. Sanders-Holly has practiced physical therapy for 12 years, all of which have been in the specialty fields of pediatrics and neurologic physical therapy. She has directed coursework in the Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum at USC in Lifespan Motor Control, and taught management of patients with neurological conditions. She has been an invited commentator for Pediatric Physical Therapy, official journal of the APTA Pediatric Section, as well as authored three chapters in the textbook, Diagnosis for Physical Therapists (2013.) Her research interests have included the examination of the triplanar movement during a hippotherapy treatment
session, and the long-term effects on gait.

She is a proud member of the APTA for more than 15 years, and the American Hippotherapy Association. In 2008, Dr. Sanders-Holly completed the AHA Level 1 Hippotherapy Treatment Principles course and in 2010 incorporated hippo therapy strategies into her private practice, Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy. In just 6 years, Leaps & Bounds has grown to serve over 500 children per week, with comprehensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy programs. Dr. Sanders-Holly continues to pursue her education in hippotherapy as a treatment strategy by completing the Level 2, The Neuro Connection and The Core Connection courses.
